The News Examiner
Position: Newspaper Reporter
Location: Gallatin, TN.
Time Frame: September 1992 to July 1994
While serving as a general assignment reporter for The News Examiner, in Gallatin, Tennessee, I had the opportunity to write every type of story imaginable. While at the paper, I learned how to deliver quality products on a deadline and how to work under pressure. In addition to writing news and feature stories, I was also responsible for taking my own photographs. Daily duties included making rounds to city and county officials and checking the reports at the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office.
(The News Examiner and The Hendersonville Star are owned by the same company. If I wrote an article for one, then it was also available to the other. Therefore, you will see my articles in both newspapers.)
